Covington Bead Mills do not produce perfectly round beads, but they do make excellent nuggets and freeform shapes. The closer one preforms the material before using the bead mill, the closer the finished product will be to your desired shape.

Covington Bead Mills make beads from 5/16" to 3/4" in diameter. The amazing machine will accommodate up to twenty 1/2" beads at a time. Polishing must be accomplished in a tumbler. We suggest a vibratory style tumbler. You can check out vibratory tumblers on our Tumblingmachines.com website.

Rough material must be cubed slightly larger than the finished size before inserting into the Covington Bead Mill. Silicon Carbide grits are used to shape the rough into round shapes. Different types of material requires different grits, milling times, etc. So, a bit of experimenting is necessary to get uniform results.

Model 1039 is a single speed machine and Model 1040 has two speeds (250 RPM and 380 RPM). The single speed on the Model 1039 does not allow proper preforming of material softer than Moh's 5. The slower speed of the Model 1040 allows better control for preforming soft material and for finer grits on hard material.

Covington Model 382 Little Sphere Machine

Even though this is called the "Little Sphere Machine", this is a heavy duty piece of equipment. It makes spheres from 1/4" to 1" (6.3mm to 25.4mm) in diameter. The Covington Little Sphere Machine has the following features:
