Slab saws allow you to slice large pieces of cabbing rough into slabs. They have larger diameter blades than trim saws, and the blades also tend to be thicker than those used on trim saws. The extra blade thickness helps increase cutting speed. We carry saws that will accommodate blades 10" on up. We only sell saws by Covington Engineering . For 10" saws, click here.
Covington Slab/Trim Saws:
These saws are light enough (for a slab saw) to be easily moved. They are quickly converted from slab saw to a trim saw with the included drop-in trim table. All CS series saws come with heavy duty sawmill type carriage glides on steel ways. The rigid grip vise has a steel jaw tongue that contacts the full length of the vise. This holds the the jaw square so it can't bind. The vise has a 4" cross feed capacity that adjusts 1/16" per turn for uniform slabbing. Instead of the power feed for slabbing, you can use a weight feed action with scales, cord and a weight fastened to the vise table. We suggest purchasing two 5 gallon buckets of Rockhound Oil with the CS Series saws. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
